My name’s Kathy, I’m retired and live in Bournville, Birmingham. I'm very lucky to have a son and daughter and 8 grandchildren. I enjoy spending lots of time with my family and working on the house and garden. I do some charity work helping people who have just come out of hospital and need some support at home. I've enjoyed the company of overseas guests from India, Japan, France, Angola and Saudi Arabia many times before. Some years ago, I ran a class for overseas children aged 5-15 to help them learn English which sparked my interest in meeting and hosting International Students.
My home is a 3 bedroom semi-detached house with pleasant gardens. The double bedroom you will stay in has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk/chair, comfortable chair and king size bed. Guests are welcome to use either the front or rear downstairs sitting rooms, and wi-fi is available. The kitchen has recently been extended and also has a sitting area for eating snacks, having a coffee or drinking tea. The shared bathroom has a shower cubicle, toilet and bath, and there is also a toilet downstairs.
I live on the Bournville Village Trust which is a popular residential area due to its open spaces, places of interest and history. The famous Cadbury family (chocolate makers) built the estate which is maintained to a very high standard. The nearest bus stop (Bus number 29) is 5 minutes away, and it's a 15-minute walk to the Bristol Road where you can catch a number of buses into the City Centre. I hope my comfortable home will soon be enjoyed once again by someone who will relish the relaxed and friendly home environment whilst studying.
