HELLO

We are a warm and friendly family that have been hosting international students for over twenty years. I am a Psychologist and my three grown up children are, James who is a financial adviser with an international company, Charlotte who is studying at a leading university and Henry who is a Doctor of Medicine at a hospital in London. I have many and varied interests including, cooking and hosting dinner parties, conversation, music, dancing, reading, theatre and many more besides. I enjoy meeting with people from different cultures. Travel is the best education.

What we Offer

I offer two single rooms and a double with a shared bath/shower room and separate toilet. All the rooms are double glazed, centrally heated and furnished with a bed, wardrobe, desk, chair and tv/dvd player and WIFI. There is communal space downstairs in the kitchen, dining room and living room. Students usually meet together around the dining table at meal times to chat and practise their English.

Where we Live

It is a large, beautiful, character filled Georgian house set in a very green area of the city and close to a good variety of public transport. The train, which is two minutes walk from the house, takes only nine minutes to reach the city centre. There are also buses, no’s 6, 11 and 1 within a few minutes walk that reach many areas of the city including Solihull. The train will also take you to the beautiful town of Stratford Upon Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace. At the bottom of my road is a beautiful park where Tolkien famously wrote “The Hobbit” and “Lord of the Rings”. ‘The Shires’ is based upon it. I am sure you'll enjoy staying at my home.
