HELLO

Hi, I am Shirin and I’m an Academic teaching sociology at University. I am married to Mukhtar Dar who is a Director of Arts. We are parents of two boys age 21 and 25, both have left home and study away but sometimes return at the weekends. This has left our home rather quiet. We miss the buzz of family life and because of this we would love to host language students again. We have hosted students for over ten years and are very familiar and are warmed by welcoming students to our home. We are not religious and welcome communities from varied backgrounds.

What we Offer

We have a large Victorian family home with three floors. Your bedrooms are located on the third floor with private bathroom and toilet facilities. You will have fully furnished rooms with study desk and wardrobes for your clothes and belongings. You are more than welcome to have access to our living rooms, dining rooms and garden. We prepare nutritious and delicious meals for our guests and enjoy dining together - it's the perfect opportunity to practice your English language skills.

Where we Live

We are located in Kings Heath, a vibrant and leafy suburb to the south of the city centre. Bus number 50 will take you to Edskills Language school in 30 minutes. It’s a very convenient location for students studying in Birmingham.
